For Recording today’s Simokitazawa, he tried to start taking photographs about Shimokitazawa.
He needs to capture the neighborhood charm as it is, how to best show it.
He thought what kind of photos is suitable for this work?
He loved the fact that Shimokitazawa changes its state everyday; every time.
Replaced shops, displayed clothes on the road, kept back in a hurry when it rains, congestion on Friday or Saturday.
Capturing those everchanging states!
He had taken photographs at the same place everyday, every-visit.
Before people commute, after their work, they enjoy shopping or eating on Saturday or Sunday.
All day, he continued to keep sceneries in his camera.
But, later he noticed a wonder in his camera.
One day he went to a camera shop and had the photos developed but the photos show entirely different sceneries from those he had captured in Shimokitazawa. He couldn’t understand at all. At first he thought he had brought a film belonging to someone else. Looking more closely, he looked into the photos, and he noticed the photos were the sceneries of Shimokitazawa. The scenery in these photos remained the atmosphere in recent Shimokitazawa slightly.
People in these photos lives more conveniently, the buildings was bigger scale, shops were more machinery, and there were few walking people. He felt these seemed the scenery of Shimokitazawa in future but as the same time he didn’t feel it’s not like Shimokitazawa. This future lost the goodness of Shimokitazawa.
He decided to change the future and to strayed into the chaos world. He thought he should inform many kinds of people in Shimokitazawa about goodness of Shimokitazawa and the death of Shimokitazawa. He should make the people have goodness of Shimokitazawa jointly.
He started taking photos again.
After several months, he went to the site usually, he was spoken to by visitors.
“You take photos everyday, don’t you?”
“Why Do you take?”
“Please take my picture here!”
He had become famous person at shimokitazawa.
His will was shared with people who sympathize with.
Some of them gave him their belongings to entrust him their wish.
Time gone.
There were full of his collection that was given to him by people which he sympathize with him in his room and he was looking for the place to exhibit them.
When he wanted a owner have his shop in simokitazawa, offered displaying space to him.
He renewed the space daily.
He, or customers, compared today to 3years ago, today to 5years ago.
Though some shops had changed, chaotic landscape had not.
How the scape 3 years later is like?
For preserving this charm, He continued to exhibit photos and items.
He went to the camera shop and had his photos developed.
He turned over the developed photos, but he only watched the tall building and the uniform shops.
It didn’t look like Simokitazawa he hopes.
He got disappointed. “How can I change the future?”
But he looked into the last photo, he got confidence that the state in future was changing slightly but certainly. Between the tall and uniformly buildings there was a very very small and heartwarming shops where many people gathereed .
He got confidence.
Future is changing step by step but certainly.
He strayed into the chaos world again.
